Sad news to report…
This has become a bit of a shock to me as it has the rest of the world as we mourn the loss of iconic singer, Whitney Houston. It was just yesterday I was reading a blog post by Necole Bitchie and Straight from the A about Whitney being spotted leaving a club in LA Thursday night.
According to TMZ, Whitney’s entourage found her in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton hotel, who alerted hotel security to call 911…. when the paramedics arrived, she was unresponsive. After several attempts to revive her, she was pronounced dead at 3:55pm earlier today. Her cause of death has not been determined, but there was no evidence of foul play.
I grew up listening to Whitney and singing along with her songs because I wanted to be a singer and mirror her image. The song “I Will Always Love You” Dolly Parton’s remake, is still a classic today. I’ve always admired Whitney for her talented gift that no one else in the world had and that was her beautiful voice. It was something about the way she sang that literally sent chills through my body, especially when she sung a gospel song. From her roles in ‘The Body Guard,’ ‘Waiting to Exhale,’ to ‘The Preacher’s Wife,’ her talent was undeniable.
Whitney leaves behind her daughter, Bobbi Christina, her mother Cissy and millions of fans who will truly miss her.
Let’s honor her by listening to her classics, check out a few of my favorites below:
