The hubby and I went to see Tyler Perry’s new movie ‘Madea’s Big Happy Family,’ and although we had already seen the play, we still weren’t disappointed. Tyler Perry has a way of sending out very powerful messages through his plays and movies that’s why we always support him. I really enjoyed this movie because I went to see the play live and the play really touched me. There are so many things that go on in the black community unheard and unspoken because most of us are taught “what goes on in this house, stays in this house.” Tyler Perry has a real good message about reaching out to people and getting help to heal those wounds we’ve covered up for generations.
I really think that the reason Tyler Perry is so blessed is because he not only wants to entertain, but also to teach valuable lessons. Although I attend church and read my Bible on a regular basis, sometimes it just helps to hear things in lamens terms. It really helps me to understand what I’m going through sometimes and that I’m not alone. Sometimes we tend to think we’re the only ones who’ve experienced certain things or situations when in fact there are thousands of other wounded souls who have as well looking for that help or that word of encouragement to keep them from going over the edge.
Overall, the movie was really good. I hope that Tyler Perry’s message reaches the black community and that we break these old habits and family curses. Even though I have a long way to go, Tyler Perry has really brought me to glimpse with some of the things in my life that I need to face and deal with. For some people his movies are just entertainment, for me it’s like a therapy. I am so thankful for that man and I hope he is continually blessed.
Please go out and support Tyler Perry!
