Todd just announced that he and Carlos King will be the producers of TV One’s new reality show Hollywood Divas which is an extension of the R&B Divas franchise.
With the success of the two R&B Divas Atlanta and LA, TV One decided to take a chance and extend the franchise to give other fallen actresses the opportunity to get another platform and start back bringing in those checks. The cast will include actresses of previous hit sitcoms and even one former reality show star.
TV One announced the cast and it will feature Countess Vaughn (“The Parkers”), Elise Neal (“All Of Us”), Paula Jai Parker (“Friday” & “Hustle & Flow”), Golden Brooks (“Motives” & “Girlfriends”), and Lisa Wu (“Real Housewives of Atlanta”).
The show will follow the ladies around as they try to get back into the acting industry and the public eye.
“TV One’s audience has a passion for programming that reveals the private stories behind the public lives of Black artists,” D’Angela Proctor, Senior Vice President of Programming and Production for TV One said. “The Hollywood Divas‘ willingness to share their experiences with inequality and obstacles when it comes to the Hollywood merry-go-round is the foundation of this series. How these women are personally affected by this phenomenon and how they individually handle the pressure, is where the Hollywood Diva stories begins.”
There’s no air date set for the show, but it’s supposed to premiere later this year. Will you be watching?
