It was Christmas in July for someone.
The Faith Project is an organization that started in Snellville, Georgia. It was founded by a young lady named Lakeisha Johnson. The Faith Project offers transitional home arrangements to help working men of 18 years to gain stability and earn a higher income. On Saturday’s the organization go out in the streets of Atlanta to provide hot meals to the homeless through their “Feed The Streets” mission. This non profit organization will not rest until they raise HOMELESS awareness within their communities.
This past Thursday, July 25th, the organization hosted its 2nd annual ‘Christmas In July’ event, in which I have had a pleasure of being apart of both. Many volunteers came out to support the event like professional hair stylist, massage therapists, guest speakers, Design Essentials donated hair care products, and their were guest performances by J-Rel and Britnee Camelle. Lunch was prepared and served, toys and supplies were given, and most importantly people in the community know that we care.
The Christmas In July event was such a blessing to those in need. The women, men, and children that were brought to the event from shelters were so grateful for those of us who gave a damn and came to bless them. The Faith Project’s motto is Homeless We Give A Damn and it’s because they really do. Be on the lookout for this annual event and come be apart of it. Visit the website at www.thefaithprojectinc.org for more information about the organzation and how you can contribute.
