Rolling out and CVS/pharmacy partnered to host the inaugural 2012 Mirror Mirror Beauty Awards in Atlanta to highlight 20 of the most prominent and recognized style makers in the beauty and entertainment industries. Among those honored is the founder of one of my absolute favorite fashion and entertainment blogs, Talking With Tami.

When I started blogging a little over a year ago, I had no idea what to do, what to write about and everyday is still in the learning process. I’ve had issues trying to define my niche and sometimes still wonder exactly what I’m doing but I know one thing for sure is that I love blogging.  I ran across a few other blogs that I’ve wondered how have they managed to stay in the blogging business as long as they have and others I really love and admire like Talking with Tami.

I read Talking with Tami pretty much everyday because she always keeps me in the loop on the latest fashion and entertainment. I love her style of writing because she just keeps it real. When I read her blog posts, I feel like we’re having a conversation and I’ve never even met her! LOL! Another reason I love her blog so much is because it’s never trashy or all about gossip. She gives us “The T” but it’s just the way she has branded and carried her blog that makes it so classy.  I look forward to when it’s time for award shows when she gives her version of “good, bad and the ugly” or as she would say “pinktastic, straddlin’ the fence and chile bye.” LOL! They are always on point and those “chile bye” pics are always HI-LA-RIOUS!!!

Recently, she started taking time out her busy schedule to help up and rising bloggers like myself to understand that blogging is truly a business and give tips on how to make our blogs as “pinktastic” as hers. I know she’s been in the industry a while and I’m sure she has tons of things to do but she decided to give back and that’s exactly the reason why she’s so blessed.

As I continue in the blogging world/business, I aspire to build a respected, classy brand like Tami. Building a blog and turning it into a business isn’t an easy job and I’m sure Tami has put in plenty of work and it’s nice to see that hard work really does pay off. Seeing her do so many things and recently get awarded has really giving me a reason to keep on pushing. I have been recently working on building my own brand and it was after learning from her how important it was to really take your blog serious (not that I don’t take my blog serious) so that other people and brands will.

Again, although we’ve never met, she has really impacted my life as it relates to not only the blogging industry, but as a woman on the grind and all about her business. When I started my blog, the whole idea was for it to be geared towards women, empowering women and highlighting positive black women making a difference. I’m one of those who always gives credit where it’s due. This is my way of admiring and thanking her for all that she does for ME!!!  She’s truly a BOSS!

**I hope she doesn’t mind that I borrowed a couple of her photos, but I was just so excited and happy for her.**
