Natural Diva

I have been going natural for almost a year now and I love it but the hardest thing for me to do is find really good natural hair products. I have tried everything from kids organics to pureology and nothing seems to make my hair as soft as I want it or gives my hair that moisture my hair needs. I really am enjoying beign natural but I really need some tips on some really good natural hair products before I result back to that “creamy crack.” LOL! Just kidding, I won’t ever return to creamy crack because I’ve come too far and plus I did the big chop so I would have to start all over again.

What I enjoy most about being natural is that I can just pretty much get up and go. When I had relaxers, I always had to do something to my hair. Being natural has really forced me to learn the true texture of my hair. Although I have a really nice grade, my edges aren’t all that good and my hair is really thick.

Another thing I have problems with is finding really cute hair accessories like headbands and the big pretty flowers. I see a lot of natural divas wearing cute hair accessories and I wonder where they get them from.

By the way, the hubby is loving my natural because I actually let him rub his hands through it. Back when I was relaxed he couldn’t touch it lol!

Does anyone out there have any suggestions and/or advice for me about some really good natural hair products, i.e. shampoo, deep conditioner, and moisturizer? Also I would love to know more about some cute hair styles as well as hair accesories.

Looking forward to comments and advice from my Natural Divas out there! Thanks in advance!

I use products on my kids and myself. I like it quite a bit.

In a book that I read lately (review is here:, the author actually suggests using natural, plant based conditioner (like Live Clean I think) and not rinsing much of it out! I find this really helps with keeping my hair not dried out. And when it is natural stuff, you don’t worry so much about leaving it in (even though it isn’t leave in conditioner!).
