Even though I’m a girly, girl, I love me some football and I actually know a lot about the game even though most of the time I’m really just looking at all those sexy, muscular men in tights run up and down that field slamming into each other chasing that pigskin ball. BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT, there are some ladies out there who absolutely despise football season and do everything they can to keep their man from watching, which can be dangerous and start arguments, instead of doing their own thing.
If you’re a woman who doesn’t like football, this is the perfect time to do some things you like to do without having your man calling you and bugging you about where you are and when you’re coming home. All you have to do is make sure he has enough wings and beer before you leave and he won’t even notice you’re gone, I promise.
Here are some things you can do while your man is watching football:
Get a mani/pedi: Most of the nail shops won’t be too crowded on a Sunday so you can go to the nail shop with pretty much no wait time and get you a mani/pedi done. Don’t just get one of those quick mani/pedi jobs, get one of those deluxe ones where they do the different mint and hot rock treatments which can be good for your blood circulation in your legs and stuff anyway.
Go to the mall: A lot of times you go to the mall, you’re in a rush if you bring along your man. Most men hate shopping with women because they swear we take too long and go in every store. Since he’ll be too busy watching the game, just take a trip to the mall for a couple hours and buy you some much needed clothes, shoes and even sexy lingerie to tease your man with later. You’ll be able to not only enjoy shopping without being rushed, but you’ll be able to splurge without him watching your spending. *wink*
Have some girl time: Haven’t been out with your girls in a while, where here’s the perfect time to catch up with them. For the next few months, your man won’t be available on Sunday and even Monday night sometimes. Call up your girlfriends and do Sunday brunch where you all can sit down, eat good, have a few drinks and catch up.
Read a book: If you’re a reader like me, this is the perfect time to dust off a few books you have on your bookshelf or have been thinking about reading. Go to a Starbucks, park or somewhere quiet and read a good book.
Have a Spa Day: Haven’t had a massage in a while, well now is the time to get you quite a few during Football season. Check out some deal on Groupon and see where you can get you a couple massages for the low. Not only do they relax your entire body, but the spa itself is a relaxing place to unwind and relieve your stresses of the day.
Take a walk/workout: Nothing relaxes me more than taking a really nice walk. I put on my music and I can walk for miles without even noticing how far I’ve gone. Walking is so soothing and really gets my brain to thinking all while burning a few calories. If you have a gym membership, go in the gym around this time too I’m sure it won’t be too crowded.
Take a drive: Yes, I know gas is off the chain, but take a short drive somewhere. Even if you just ride through your city to a local park or even visit your old neighborhood, just take some time to drive around your local area and take in the scenery. A lot of times when we’re in the car, we’re rushing to work, drop the kids off, heading to the grocery store or wherever we’re going and don’t have time to take in the scenery.
These are just a few ideas of things you can do while your man is yelling at the screen ignoring you watching football. Although these are a few suggestions, you can do plenty other things that you enjoy as well to waste that time during the game.
