There is nothing that warms my heart more than to see celebrities giving back.
Kelly Rowland has joined forces with the Salvation Army to help raise awareness for National Giving day on December 13th.
During a recent interview on the Today show, Kelly Ro pointed out that the Salvation Army’s obligations for giving extend far beyond the holidays and that they are responsible for giving to those in need year-round.
We have to stop and pay attention because the red kettle is not just about just the holidays. I’ve gotten a chance to see it first hand and going to visit with kids, playing with them and seeing what they actually do in the community is so much fun. Providing meals, after school programs, I mean it’s so much and I appreciate The Salvation Army so much myself for even looking after me as a kid.
Kelly recently visited a couple of schools for the #RockTheRedKettle campaign and red stories to the kids and even participated in some of their activities. She posted a video to her Instagram of her doing the “Freeze Dance” with the kids and she seemed to be having a wonderful time.
She talks about giving back:
This daycare center is so incredibly important because it’s serving all the low income families in the neighborhood. The kids are getting love, they are learning, they are getting three to four meals a day, they are happy. I saw smiles on their faces today. I feel it’s important to give back, it definitely keeps your feet on the ground. Because I think sometimes you’re so busy you forget about on how incredibly fortunate and grateful you should be.
