Just because the summer is almost over doesn’t mean all your hard work getting in shape should fall by the wayside. Bikini season may have been and gone all too quickly, but you should stay in good fitness and healthy eating habits ready to look fabulous at the Christmas party and be even fitter next summer. Those that may not yet have started their fitness journey can start thinking about getting into good routines of exercise and eating well this autumn. You’ll start to see and feel the difference by the winter holiday season, and be ready to wow your friends when you hit the beach in the summer.
You don’t have to dress in rags to work out, and there are many great workout clothes to look fab in while you get fit. Whatever your exercise of choice, there is some great sportswear that will have you feeling invincible without being impractical.
If your preferred arena of choice is the gym then you need to find a good balance between wearing an old holey t-shirt, and being someone who visits with a full face of makeup and clothes you couldn’t run more than a few paces in. Overly loose clothes can be hazardous at the gym, as loose fabric can get caught in the machines. Clothes that are too tight however, restrict movement and increase the amount you will sweat as you work out. Find clothes that are figure hugging but that are still comfortable enough for you to move freely in. There are many great designs, colours and fabrics available, so you can be just as fussy as you are with your regular clothes.
Not everyone is a gym bunny, and the idea of free weights, running machines and spinning classes fill many with fear. A great alternative is swimming, a sport which can be done at your own pace and without the need for any specialist equipment. All you need is your local pool a swimsuit and a towel and you are ready to take the plunge. There are many fab swimsuits at George that are designed to flatter all shapes and sizes whilst being supportive enough to manage laps round the pool, not just for posing at the sides. Find one to suit your body and tastes and jump in with confidence.
Running is a great way to warm up and there is little better than a brisk jog on a crisp autumn morning. The key bit of kit for a runner is a good pair of trainers, and these are imperative in preventing injuries. If your running shoes have seen better days and have been worn for one too many jaunts then make sure you invest in a new pair. It’s not worth scrimping on these so chose a pair you like the style of as well as ones that will give your feet, back, hips and knees the best support.
Exercise doesn’t mean dressing in frumpy clothes and punishing yourself with reps and miles of running. Find sportswear that suits your style and personality to give your workout a positive make over, because if you look good, you feel good, and that extra confidence might just carry you that bit further towards your goal.
