I haven’t worked outside the house in a little over a year and yesterday was my first day back at work, boy was it tough.
First of all, I was dreading even going all the way up until it was time for me to go. I just kept sitting around thinking about how hard it was going to be for me to stay awake all night and the fact that the company I’m working for is going to be having so much mandatory overtime. Now, some of yall might say “be glad you have a job in this economy… be thankful for the OT with Christmas coming up.” But let me explain something to yall.. I haven’t worked outside the house in a while so that’s just like starting from scratch and if I get sleepy, I can just take a nap, get back up and at it again. With a job that is totally different. I have to be on someone else’s property, time and dime so I can’t just do what I want.
The whole ride to work all I kept thinking about is all of the things I could be doing at home and how I wasn’t even looking forward to working til midnight. Well I made it through the first night and the job really isn’t all that bad. I’m working so hard towards my goals so I have to do what I have to do for the time being. Keeping that in mind is really going to help me get through this rough time because seriously, entrepreneurship is all I’m cut out for. These jobs be on that straight bullski that I can’t even handle, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do and that’s the case right now.
Although I did fall asleep a couple times, I did make it through my first NIGHT. So we’ll see how this goes tomorrow.
