If you read TractHer TrailHer on a regular basis, you would know that I am and have been on a weight loss journey for quite some time.
Since I’m so damn inconsistent, it is taking me a lot longer to drop all the unwanted pounds, but I am getting there slowly but surely. As the saying goes: slow progress is still progress.
The weather has returned to normal here in Atlanta which makes me very excited since I love to get my exercise in outdoors. It’s just something about walking 2-3 miles away from home that FORCES me to finish my workouts. Since I know myself and how I like to workout, I love doing so outdoors because no matter what it forces me to finish.
A little over a week ago, I got a new sew-in as a protective style for my natural hair and hell simply because I love weave anyway. Since I’m trying out this new hair, I decided to really test it out to see if it was good for working out.
While working out, I like to wear a hat for the sun and to keep my hair from blowing all over the place. For the last couple days, I walked with my hat on and took it off to see just how my hair was when I was done working out. To my surprise, after the sweat dried out my hair, it was still in tact. My curls were still pretty much there and I had to do minimal work to my hair to get it back to its original state before working out.
I know there’s this huge thing about black women and our hair and that’s one of the main reasons we don’t like working out is because of our damn hair, which was somewhat true for me back in the day before I started taking my health more serious. Honestly, I think weave and hair extensions are seriously the best route if you want to truly workout and stay healthy. Not only are they protective styles for your natural tresses, but they don’t require as much work. I’m happy with my new hair because it really stays in place in spite of all the sweat and doesn’t take me long at all to whip it back into shape.
Peep my workout hair below and tell me what y’all think. Did my hair look too bad after working out?
After all that working out, I took off my hat and my hair was still pretty much in tact. Gotta love this fabulous cut and most definitely the Peruvian hair.
